Magic Results at Millions (Jan 07)
22 January 2007 Once again Baerami had a stunning result at the Magic Million sale on the Gold Coast. Staying true to our goals we have been able to achieve a 100% clearance at the main sale, maintained sensational service fee multiples and have our stock going to leading trainers such as Bart Cummings, Tony Vasil, Kris Lees and Alan Bailey.
It has always been an expressed goal at Baerami to value add genetics through superior individuals and we have been able to achieve this again in 2007. Our resident stallion for several years, Rhythm, was the main stay of our draft and was responsible for a median of 110k and an average of 105k. This represents a phenomenal return on service fee and a better average than the likes of Gallileo, Royal Academy, Canny Lad, Quest For Fame, Viscount, Mossman, Danewin, Show A Heart, Bel Esprit etc whom all stood at substantially more than Rhythm.
We continue to state that we offer exceptional value for money with our stallions and have "led from the front" by supporting these stallions with good mares, proving that if you have a nice mare you do not need big input costs to maximise profit. Remember that profit is the difference between costs and returns, not simply about larger gross figures.
Horses like Rock Of Gibraltar, Fusiachi Pegasus, More Than Ready, Danzero, Falbrav, Tale Of The Cat, Choisir, Elusive Quality, Testa Rossa, Flying Spur, General Nediym etc all averaged a little more than Rhythm at the sales however we are sure that when higher input costs are factored in Rhythm actually showed a better return on investments and a higher service fee multiple. An even more telling figure is the median. Take the time to work out the medians on the mentioned stallions and Rhythms results are even more stunning, an example being Elusive Quality who stood at 100k when these yearlings were concieved yet had a median below Rhythms. Bottom line - more profit, less risk. This augers very well for Danasinga in 2007 as he to will undoubtedly provide similar overall returns as Rhythm has, again providing better profits for canny breeders.
