Danasinga does it in all quarters
30 January 2007 Danasinga continues to achieve what most stallions at twice his service fee only dream of. A great week of results has him continuing his headline grabbing act that has his appeal ever widening. Another stakes winner this week, the undefeated Mister Dexter, has Danasinga touting two individual stakes winners and a stakes placegetter so far this calendar year. Throw in the fact he averages almost a winner every day in 2007 and the rationale behind his prominence is obvious - he does the job when higher profile horses cannot. How many stallions at this price can achieve 10% stakes horses to runners?
From our point of view the dynamic win of Mister Dexter, winning the 1400m race in a slick 1.20.21, is a bitter sweet result. We would love to see this exciting galloper competing in the best races Australia has to offer however we completely understand his Hong Kong based owner, Mr Wong, wanting this horse to race proudly for him at home. The success that Danasinga's progeny have in Hong Kong would give Mr Wong even greater confidence that Mister Dexter will take the next step. While on the subject of Danasinga's in Hong Kong, the outstanding Danacourt is making excellent progress for trainer John Size as this chestnut son of Danasinga works his way back from injury. A spectacular world class racehorse at his best, Danacourt may yet propel Danasinga to the top of the sires list in Hong Kong by seasons end as he presently sits inside the top 10 without his best horse having yet to face the starter this season.
It is not new news that Danasinga has enormous popularity in Hong Kong and this was further evidenced with his 425k Aus result for a 2yo at the recent Hong Kong sale. Obviously motivated with the overall package that Danasinga brings to the table, the Hong Kong Jockey Club lined up again yesterday and bought another by this popular sire for 160k NZ. Only 3 yearlings by Danasinga were offered in New Zealand yesterday, averaging just on 130k with a median of 140k which is a result that will fill the hearts with joy for those wise enough to send a mare to Danasinga in 2005 or 2006. Apart from HKJC, buyers include the astute John Chalmers and the canny Graeme Rogerson buying under the Dormello Stud name, the fabled stud of Tesio now utilised by Rogerson in his native New Zealand.
In 2006 Danasinga had an average of 80k at the majors so if these results are maintained then future progeny sales will be encouraging and the relentless catch cry from Baerami of offering value for money with service fees will again be reinforced.
